Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko eight-days free eye treatment programme have restored sight to 1, 097 people in Sokoto, a statement by his spokesperson, Bashir Rabe Mani confirmed.
The beneficiaries, who were from his Senatorial District of Sokoto North were treated for various eye ailments.
Sokoto North local government consist of Gudu, Tangaza, Binji, Wamakko, Silame, Kware as well as Sokoto North and Sokoto South respectively.
The free eye treatment which started on 1st of August at Gudu Local Government, has so far covered 6 local governments in the Senatorial district.
The Senator, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko free eye treament programme would be rounded off today at the Palace of Ciroman Sokoto in Sokoto North after treating patients yesterday in Sokoto South.
Reacting to the gesture, a beneficiary who simply gave his name as Mustapha said, Senator Wamakko always have the interest of the less-privilege at heart.
According to him, the free eye treatment is just but one of the numerous ways in which the former governor has touched their lives individually and collectively.
On his part, Senator, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko confirmed that, the free eye treatment was simply but one of the numerous programmes he has being doing to help not only his constituent, but the entire state as well.
