The Plus Size Fashion Week Africa (PFWA) invites budding plus size models to cast for the first ever edition.

The first time event aimed at maximising the growing focus of the plus-size fashion industry and the promotion of the African culture is set to hold at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos on 2nd September 2017.

With the maiden edition themed: 'Celebrating the Real African Woman', the fashion week will highlight plus size models and apparels with runway shows, exhibitions, business masterclasses and skill acquisition amongst other activities lined up for the first ever edition.

Ladies from 18 and above from sizes 12 – 20 are invited to audition on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Villa Angelia Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos from 11am. Models are expected to come in plain black top, dark blue jeans over 5-inch heels (wedges are not allowed).

"The Plus-size Fashion Week Africa is opening a window of opportunity for all plus size models in Africa where the winner of the modelling competition would be one of the headlining models at the first ever Plus-size Fashion Week in Africa while going away with a modelling contract with an international modelling company in the UK" a rep for the organizers shares.

Plus-size Fashion Week Africa (PFWA) is a first of its kind fashion runway show that highlights plus size models and apparels. The event will feature a plus size runway fashion show, plus size modelling competition and exhibition booths to create a unique shopping experience for consumers.

PFWA was birthed out of the need to stop the stigmatisation and body shaming of the plus-sized woman, we believe that every woman should be comfortable in her skin and body regardless of what the society thinks as long as they are healthy.

PFWA is aimed at maximising the growing focus on the plus-size fashion industry and also the promotion of the African culture. This maiden edition is themed: “Celebrating the Real African Woman”. It is billed to attract over 500 people who will be exposed to your designs and fashion pieces.
